Curls for the Girls

Friday:

3 miles w/ the dog
100 kb swings
500 jump ropes (157 in a row, then 152 in a row)

5x
10 low squats with kb
5 (per side) weighted lunges

15 minutes stretching

It was a solid workout, but I look forward to getting a heavier bell.  At some point I need to start pushing myself with the rope, too, and mix in some fancy shit.

For a few hours after working out, the dog stayed on the couch like this.  His eyes are saying "you killed me!"

Saturday:

After a few hours of puttering online I got a bug up my ass to finally tackle the 2' tall weeds in the back yard. I spent an hour with the pick, and took down enough of them to fill our compostable trash bin to the brim.  Those bins are fucking huge, too.  It was almost too heavy to move.  I sweat through not only my shirt, but my leather work gloves.  And, there are still a ton of smaller weeds left.  Ug.

Sunday:

Curling!  It was my first night playing with the curling league I joined. Everyone is so nice.  Not just my team, but everyone there.  Friendly, encouraging, funny.

I'm terrible.  Which isn't surprising.  But, it was my first game ever.  So, I can only assume I will get better.  Everyone else has fancy shoes and their own brooms.

I love my team.  When I was paired with them they sent me a link to Amazon so we could all have matching socks.

The socks are snowboarding socks, so once we got moving, my feet stayed warm.  I bought rain running pants a few years ago, so I tried them out, because the back is fleece.

All the dirt on the patio is from the weeding.  Awesome, I know.  The nasty shed is not on our property.

The floor guys are coming this morning to lay down new oak flooring in our living room and dining room.  Because we've been in the process of redoing the living room, our kitchen looks like this:

Because we're lazy, we've been ordering in most nights.  It's easier than doing dishes.

I had leftover lamb kabob last night, but not enough for a meal by itself, so I decided to make Greek fried rice.  I chopped up the lamb, tomato, pepperoncinis, and kalamata olives, fried up the rice, added in the chopped up shit, and two eggs.  It was fucking awesome.  I'm a genius.

The weed shop by my house:

I can only describe this type of decoration, in March, as "high as fuck."

==================

The lack of familiar places has bonded the pets.  We've kept the love seat in the living room because it's light and super easy to move.

====================

I finally got a team together for the Run4Kids 24 hour ultramarathon.  Yay!  Two weeks.  (if you're local and want to be on a team, even if you can only run a few miles at a time, you can join my team.  The more the Meirier)

  1. Oh man, that race sounds sweet. If I was local, I would be there (and playing the sax with Santa, let's be honest).

    When I read your post title, I thought it had something to do with pubes.

  2. Curling fun! Those are killer socks. Great pics all around, really. How long is this floor remodel going to take? Seems like you've been displaced for too long now.
