Plan For The Week

Do you have runner store or bike shop loyalties?

What did you do for exercise this weekend?

====================

Monday: 30 minute run (trails), 30 minute swim
Tuesday: Garage training
Wednesday: 60 minute bike, 10 minute run (brick!)
Thursday: Gym training
Friday: 35 minute swim
Saturday: Disneyland 5k (in costume)
Sunday: Disneyland Half Marathon

=====

Speaking of bricks, I had a failed attempt at one on Friday. I made it 15 minutes into my bike ride before my back tire went flat.

So, I was 2 miles from my car. And, you guys, I still don't know a lot about bikes. For some reason I thought pushing the bike back to the car would hurt the rims? I don't know.

So. I carried the bike. The whole way. My shoulders are still a little sore. But, not as sore as my pride.

This is how dirty you get carrying a bike 2 miles.

And then, oh man, I had to cheat on my favorite bike shop, since they close at 6pm. But the guys at the new bike shop were also very nice. And put a new tube in while I waited. So, I don't know, man.

Don't worry, I did a real brick Sunday.

  1. The running club to which I belong gets a 15% discount at one of the local running stores. I feel a sense of obligation to buy stuff there. And I just became a member of REI so I think I'll be taking my bike there when I need things.

    You're running a half marathon on Sunday? Have fun!

  2. I would think it would hurt the rims, too .... but I have no clue. And I don't know that I could have been bad ass enough to actually carry it!

    Sunday? Saturday? Racing? I'm in. I'll come along! ;) .... will you wipe the vomit off my chin if/when I end up puking? Great. Thanks.

  3. Um, you look super cute carrying the bike, so I wouldn't worry about it.

    YOU didn't fail, your bike did. :)

    My tri club gets a 20% discount at our local bike shop (which also has running stuff). My women's bike club gets a 15% parts (Idk if that includes actual BIKES, which would be an awesome deal), 20% labor discount at some bike shops in St. Louis, which is helpful for buying stuff but not so much for getting my bike worked on.

    Saturday I pre-rode the trail for Sunday's mountain bike race. Sunday, I rode 21 miles of singletrack and got a beautiful swollen elbow out of my worst crash...and had a fantastic time.
