Trial by fire!
So, I'm back in the groove. Well, I'm planning on being back in the groove. I'll be attending my regularly scheduled double dose of strength training this week. Yay!
Other than that, my mom is in town, so I can't make any fitness promises. She specifically asked me to do a workout with her at some point while she's here. We haven't negotiated what yet, but she's not a runner, so it won't be that.
Anything beyond that will have to see, since it will be family time this week, so I won't be jetting off for a trail run after work.
But I'm excited to get these old bones up and moving again.
My goals:
1. Work out once with my mom
2. Two sessions with my trainer
3. Plant 5 fruit trees
4. Get back to working on my posture.
Taking a week off from exercise kind of let to a literally slump. I'm slouching right now, as I type this, knowing I should be sitting up straight, but not wanting to. Why is slouching so darn comfortable?
Fine. I'm sitting up straight. I hope you're happy.

How many sweaters do you own?
I counted this morning (I have no idea why), and I own 28 sweaters. I have about 5 that are in constant rotation. The rest I sometimes, occasionally wear. I should probably cull the herd at some point and do a clothing exchange or something. I have a lot of clothes I don't wear anymore.

What are your goals for the week?
I probably have over 20 sweaters as well. I am trying to picture my armoir right now. :P
ReplyDeleteMy goal for this week is to get 4 swims done!
Yaaay family time!! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually am NOT a sweater person at all. Sweatshirts? Heck yes, I have like 15 of those, but I think I have....4 sweaters? 3? Not a lot.
Perfect post timing! I was just thinking about how I need to have more structure to my workouts, now that I'm in the rhythm of actually *going* to the gym on a daily basis. I've been doing a *lot* of cardio, so I need to mix that up a bit. This week, I think my goal is to run. I spin 3-5 times a week, and while I'm loving it 110%, I'm starting to get that nagging voice telling me (thanks in no small part to your blogspiration, btw) that I should try to run again. So I think I'm going to aim for tonight and Friday night to be running workouts, with strength mixed in. T-H are spinning nights with Pilates after. Maybe Wednesday I'll do a couple miles of running warmup before spin too.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm still alive at the end of the week, I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm a hoodie person too...I think I had 20 or so last count, but I'm not sure now...they're spread in all my usual "I'm cold wait now I'm hot" places (car, sewing room, work, etc.)
PS, I took my mom to spin last week and she loved it! I'd highly recommend it if you haven't tried it!
i own lots of sweaters because i used to live in chicago. which is hell if you don't own sweaters.
ReplyDeletei live in kansas so lots of sweaters are in order in the winter months.
ReplyDeleteI own 48 sweaters. Love them! But it is werid that I only wear about 6 of them. haha
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to work on my core more this week!
I noticed I sat up straight right when you talked about posture.
ReplyDeleteI have sweaters - but I never wear them. I love my hooded sweatshirts though! I go through phases where I'll just wear the same one over and over and over. Then switch.
I have bunch of sweaters, but I only wear like 3 of them. I hate the way they start to feel after I wash them... weird.
ReplyDeleteTWENTY EIGHT?! Holy crap. I have, like, 2. Maybe three.
ReplyDeleteSweaters are something I don't wear very often and I think I have 2! I'm constantly in sleeveless tops as I'm always hot, even in winter.
ReplyDeleteMy goals for the week are to get my ass to my new gym and train in the power rack once and for all!
wow thats a lot. I think I have...maybe 5.
ReplyDeleteI have way to many sweaters. Does way to many count as a number
ReplyDeletethanks for reminding me of my slouch.....NOT! it's the hardest thing to remember to work on, and the least comfortable thing to do. BAH.
ReplyDeletedid you know that lauren up there (diet coke and a lemon) is was my college roommate and came to visit me recently? i'm so full of trivia.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you're going to work out with your mom!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I have no idea how many sweaters I own. Probably around 15 or so. I just moved on Friday and donated a lot of clothing so I got rid of a lot of them. I could probably get rid of even more!
My goals for the week: get all 4 workouts in, have a good night out with my friends, continue to unpack, keep a positive attitude.
I have no idea how many sweaters I have, way too many - if you count cardigans - it's probably like 50. Enjoy your time with your mom.
ReplyDeleteI think I have maybe 3 sweaters, but tons of teacher-y cardigans. ahh. Glad your back with to your routine today!
ReplyDeleteI have 7 sweaters and I think I need to get a few more!
ReplyDeleteI got rid of a lot of sweaters when I moved away from Chicago, but I recently got a beige wool cardigan from Banana Republic and can't seem to keep it off my body. It basically is on my all the time and I'm starting to feel a little like Mr. Rogers. My husband made me say "hi neighbor" the other day when I was putting it on. Embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on Cafe Press and thought of you. Now you can slap something like this on your car: http://www.cafepress.com/+ultrarunner_bumper_sticker,123689075
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to work on my posture lately, too. I know it should be simple, but I have a hard time knowing if I should engage any ab muscles or feel totally relaxed. Do you know?
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of sweaters, so I only have about four.
I need to work on my posture... I look like a slob! I'm also constantly purging my closet, trying to get rid of crap. I probly have 8 sweaters? Some of which I never wear...
